So whether you eat or drink or whatsoever you do, do it all to the glory of God… 1 Cor 10:31
1 Corinthians 10:31 always comes to mind as the best way to describe what is meant when we say “everything for Christ” but that’s not actually where it began for me. It was several years ago teaching through portions of Pauls letters to the Churches during Vacation Bible School that the phrase really struck me, becoming our theme for our 7th-12th grade Youth group that week….”But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ” Phil 3:7
There it is, What thing is more precious than Knowing Christ and Enjoying Him Supremely?
There’s nothing… Not the fleeting passions of my sin, Not the scratch of addictions itch, not my human relationships or possessions, Not my status, Not my income, Not the approval of men… There is NO-THING greater. THEREFORE, everything that I am and everything that I do and everything that I have, the totality of my existence is for Christ!
And for all those who would run to Him, Cling to Him, Trust in Him and His perfect work for the salvation of their souls… They would know such joy and freedom and hope in Jesus that can never be obtained in a life apart from Him.
I’m Nate Osborne, a Pastor and fellow worker in the Good News of Jesus Christ. I’m a sinner saved by grace through faith, not of my own works but through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. In practice, I’m so very far from perfect, but Christ is faithfully growing me to treasure Him above all things. I hope you’ll join me.
